LEGAL ONE Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Credits
LEGAL ONE (Law,Ethics andGovernance forAllLeaders, including anOverview ofNew andEmerging Issues) , an approved provider of the New Jersey Board on Continuing Legal Education, offers a broad array of program offerings that are eligible for New Jersey Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits. LEGAL ONE's program offerings not only can satisfy your attorney professional development needs, but also assist you in better serving your New Jersey education community clients. In order to receive NJ CLE credits from the program offerings below, attorneys must comply with LEGAL ONE's Attorney Attendance Verification procedures as set forth here. Compliance includes completing an Attorney Attendance Verification Form, which can be accessed here. A sample completed Attorney Attendance Verification form is provided here to assist attorneys in completing the form.
If you have a financial hardship, LEGAL ONE has a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Scholarship Financial Hardship policy that may be able to help. The process by which you can request a scholarship for a LEGAL ONE Continuing Legal Education program is set forth here.
- Participants must be present and participate in the entire course.
- Course attendance codes have been placed on select slides throughout the presentation and will be verbally identified at those select points. Participants will need to record those course attendance codes for later entry into the Attorney Attendance Verification Form.
- The Attorney Attendance Verification Form contains spaces for up to seven (7) course attendance codes. Not every course will contain seven (7) course attendance codes, but none will contain more than seven (7).
- Attendees must enter the course name, attendee name, date of attendance and course attendance codes into the Attorney Attendance Verification Form.
- The Attorney Attendance Verification Form includes a certification by the attorney attendee that the attorney attended and completed the course and is entitled to the CLE credits listed for the program.
- The completed Attorney Attendance Verification Form should be scanned and emailed to legalone@njpsa.org for processing.
- If the Attorney Attendance Verification Form has been properly completed, LEGAL ONE will send the attorney attendee the NJ CLE Certificate of Attendance for the course. The attorney attendee will be directed to sign the form on the appropriate certification line, scan it and send a signed copy back to LEGAL ONE, keeping a signed copy for the attorney attendee's records.
LEGAL ONE Professional Learning Series and Certificate Programs
LEGAL ONE offers a cost-effective way to meet your continuing legal education needs by bundling multiple programs together at fixed cost that is less that that of the combined individual program prices. LEGAL ONE's bundled program offerings include:
School Law Express: Attorney Webinar Series 22-23
LEGAL ONE offers a package of ten 70-minute live school attorney webinars on various legal topics, one each month from September to June, each running from 12:00 p.m. to 1:10 p.m., for the bundled price of $300; a 25% discount over the single 70-minute school attorney webinar price of $40 per webinar. Each individual live webinar is approved for 1.3 New Jersey Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits.
Special Education Litigation Certificate Program – Fall '22
Litigation is a constant threat in the area of special education. In New Jersey, the challenge is even greater because the burden of proof is always on the school district, unlike any other area of the law. This series will empower participants to understand how to reduce the need for litigation, prepare for mediation and due process, and be in the best possible position to prevail when litigation occurs, under IDEA or Section 504. Participants will understand the impact of the pandemic and other recent events on student and parent rights under IDEA and Section 504, and receive information on recently enacted statutes and regulations, and the latest state and federal guidance impacting special education law. Each individual live workshop is approved for 5.6 New Jersey Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits.
